Post Training Mentorship- IBCLC

About

For trained & practicing professionals Mentorship is for professionals who have completed foundational training or certification and want continued support as they build confidence, deepen their skills, and encounter situations that don't always fit neatly into a textbook. You don't need to be struggling to benefit from mentorship. You may be newly certified, working independently, encountering unfamiliar or complex situations, or simply ready to grow. Lactation Mentorship Case consultation • Clinical reasoning • Complex feeding situations • Documentation • Care planning • Referrals • Confidence Mentorship should feel supportive- not evaluative. There is a super vulnerable space between “I completed my training” and “I feel confident doing this on my own.” I've been there. My approach isn't about proving what you know or catching what you don't. It's about having a safe place to ask more questions, think through complicated situations with someone experienced, develop your own judgment, and process what you're experiencing with someone beside you. The goal isn't for you to practice exactly like I do. The goal is for you to become increasingly confident in the way you practice. I especially value mentoring Indigenous birth and lactation professionals. Education alone doesn't build a workforce- we also need opportunities to practice, experienced professionals willing to teach, and safe spaces to get to be new. I want my practice to be one of those places.
