Childbirth Education
Understand birth. Know your options. Prepare for the experience—not just the checklist.
Childbirth education should do more than teach you the stages of labor.
I have taught childbirth education for many years, helping families understand pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum recovery, infant feeding, and the decisions they may encounter along the way.
My classes are practical, evidence-informed, and designed to help you understand why things happen- not simply memorize what you are “supposed” to do.
The goal is not to prepare you for one perfect kind of birth. It is to help you enter birth informed, confident, and better prepared to make decisions even when circumstances change.

Education Without an Agenda
Good childbirth education gives you information- not another set of expectations to live up to.
We’ll talk honestly about physiologic birth, medical interventions, pain-management options, cesarean birth, infant feeding, and the unexpected situations that can change a plan. My goal is for you to understand your options well enough to participate meaningfully in decisions about your own care.
Childbirth education is included in doula care.
My doula clients receive individualized childbirth education throughout our prenatal visits as part of their care.
Rather than separating education from preparation for your actual birth, we can focus on the information most relevant to you- your pregnancy, your birth setting, your questions, your previous experiences, and the decisions you may be considering.
There is no additional fee for childbirth education provided as part of your doula package.
Childbirth Education Without Doula Care
You do not need to hire me as your doula to learn with me.
Childbirth education is also available independently for families who already have a birth support plan or simply want comprehensive preparation for pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and infant feeding.
Private education can be tailored to your family, including first-time birth preparation, a refresher for experienced parents, preparation after a previous difficult or traumatic birth, planned cesarean preparation, partner education, or focused education around specific concerns.
